Black Widow: David Harbour’s Filming Officially Finished

After the MCU phase-3 came to an end, so did the roles of many fan-beloved characters. Characters like Tony Stark (Iron Man), Steve Rogers (Captain America) and Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) bid farewell with the massive hit Avengers: Endgame. However, Marvel is in no mood to stop as MCU is set to enter its phase-4. Movies like Black Widow, WandaVision, and Falcon and the Winter Soldier are all part of MCU’s next phase.
Among all the hype news regarding MCU, it was announced that the Stranger Things star David Harbour would be partaking in the upcoming Black Widow movie. Black Widow will be a prequel solo film featuring Scarlett Johansson. The movie is set in the events between Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America: Civil War. It is now revealed that David is finally finished filming his role in the film.
The rumors of Harbour being cast in the movie started a long time ago. Afterward, Marvel Studios announced that he would be appearing as the Red Guardian in the long-awaited MCU flick. He is among few more additions who would appear in the solo Black Widow film. Rachel Weisz, Florence Pugh (Yelena Belova), and O-T Fagbenle are cast in the shared universe for the first time as well.

It is not the first time for Harbour to appear in a superhero flick as he starred in Hellboy earlier as well. The film did not do very well, but he is quick to move on to his next project. Harbour confirmed the news of his filming in Black Widow being finished through an Instagram post. The post reveals his clean-shaven look for the movie.
With Harbour’s announcement, it is expected that the filming of the film as a whole is wrapping up as well. The filming for the movie started way before Marvel officially confirmed the flick. Marvel Studios confirmed that Natasha is indeed dead, and the film is a prequel set in previous events. Black Widow will be on the run in the movie, and this is how the audience will be introduced to the Red Guardian.
David’s future in the MCU depends on how the outcome of Black Widow pans out. He may be appearing in future MCU flicks as well if he survives the events of the film. The fans adore Harbour as an actor, so there are chances that he will be cast in future MCU movies as well. But before all that, the fans are eagerly waiting for David’s first official look for the film to be released. His character Alexi Shostakov can be seen in the D23 poster for the movie.
However, the poster only showcased his side-profile and not a front look of his red super suit. The marketing of the movie will soon start as the movie may already have finished filming. It will be interesting to see how much about his character is revealed during the marketing campaigns. Whatever is revealed, the fans are sure to make a jump on it. The film is set to release on May 01, 2020.
