Getting started
  1. To begin with, you need to go to the Google Play Store.
  2. Enter Amazon Alexa in the search bar.

  6. Open the freshly installed app.
  7. Enter the username and password of your Amazon account.
  8. Click on the Sign In button.
  9. Those who are new and don’t have an account, need to tap on Create a New Account.
  10. Go to Help Alexa list and choose your name.
  11. Or else, click on I am Someone Else for entering your details.
  12. You may add a nickname, as well.
  13. Select the Allow button for giving permission to Amazon for uploading the contacts. This will help in establishing connections with others.
  14. Or else, you may click on the Later button.
  15. If prompted, click again on Allow for security purposes.
  16. Also, you might be asked to verify the contact number in case you wish to make and receive phone calls and texts with Amazon Alexa.
  17. Hit the Next button and follow the prompts.
  18. Finally, you can swipe upwards for exploring the app.
Customizing the app
  1. First, you need to launch the Alexa application on the smartphone.
  2. Touch the Devices tab at the lower pane.
  3. After that, select the All Devices option.
  4. Now, you need to select Alexa on this phone.
  5. This will enable you to change the region, units of measurement, and time zone.
Steps for using Alexa Voice Commands
  1. First, open the app.
  2. Now, touch the speech icon at the lower side of the screen for enabling the Alexa voice command feature.
  3. Once the prompt appears, select the Allow option.
  4. Now, select the Done option.
  5. For activating the smart assistant, just hit the speech bubble and start giving commands. For instance, you can say:

  7. Alexa, call my mother.
  8. Alexa, sing me a song.
How to Add Alexa as the Default Assistant?
  1. First, you need to open the Settings app.
  2. After that, you need to select Apps from the list.
  3. Now, hit the vertical ellipsis icon at the upper-right edge.
  4. Select the option called Default apps.
  5. Select the Device assistance app.
  6. Once more tap on Device assistance app.
  7. Here, select Alexa.
